Journalist and artist Shirin Barghi has created a gripping, thought-provoking series of graphics that not only examines racial prejudice in today’s America, but also captures the sense of humanity that often gets lost in news coverage. Titled “Last Words,” the graphics illustrate the last recorded words by Brown and other young black people — Trayvon Martin, Oscar Grant and others — who have been killed by police and vigilantes in recent years.

-AGGRESSIVELY BREAKS OUT THE ACE FLAG-
if a bisexual calls themselves “gay” as an umbrella term to feel accepted into a broader community, but still proudly identifies as bisexual, let them.
if a demisexual calls themselves “ace” to fit into a bigger spectrum of similar people, but still proudly identifies as demisexual, let them.
if a straight girl calls herself “gay” because she likes men, or a straight boy calls himself “lesbian” because he likes women, show them no mercy.

this took me a while to unlearn, until someone basically said “look, colors are a spectrum. if you assign pink to women and blue to men, that doesn’t make every other color a variation of purple”
